Greetings! I will be joining Serena Gabriel in concert at the historic outback mining town of Bisbee AZ at the Bisbee Grand Hotel on Thursday, May 21st, 7pm! (Not far from Tombstone Az) :
An evening of sonic enchantment with multi-instrumentalist and dancer Serena Gabriel with ambient pioneer Steve Roach.
Ancient instruments, (lyre, harmonium, flutes, didgeridoo, and voice), weave through immersive soundworlds as Gabriel and Roach create expansive sonic environments that feel both deeply primal, otherworldly and spiritually expansive.
Movement and sound intertwine throughout, with Gabriel’s sacred dance becoming part of the living architecture of the journey, bridging the archaic and the futuristic, guiding listeners into a meditative, transportive space where sound and ceremony are one.
Serena’s rich body of solo work includes IZAR, Inanna’s Dream, Seeing Inside and The Saffron Sky, and a collaborative history with Steve that includes Nectar Meditation, Remembrance in Waves, Temple of the Melting Dawn, Entering Elysium and Nada Brahma sound workshops along with Linda Kohanov.
More than a concert, this is a living, breathing sound journey: fluid, intuitive, and fully present.
Opening the evening is the wonderfully creative musical project Andante, a mesmerizing blend of ambient music and immersive light visuals by beloved local artists Carolyn Toronto and Frank Tornoe, transforming the space into a glowing soundscape.
