After the stillness comes the AFTERLIGHT. Created in the Spring of 2009, in the afterglow of DYNAMIC STILLNESS, this long-form piece delivers the listener deep inside a multi-dimensional realm of forming clouds, an endless expanse with no boundaries or sense of temporal limits. Amorphous strands of harmonic lumina emerge and recede in a constant unfolding and reconfiguring state for the duration of this pure atmospheric suspension. This piece, along with its two companion releases DESTINATION BEYOND and IMMERSION: FOUR were created over the the same time period, and all share a common sense of breath, interconnection and pursuit of timelessness. Refined over several months, the piece was kept in constant low-volume playback during sleep, rest and times of reflection. The ongoing experience of living with the piece, and shaping it before its release into the world, has become a vital part of Steve's immersion process, going back to 1984's STRUCTURES FROM SILENCE.

Three striking new pieces born from the moment. Steve Roach's new 2-CD set seamlessly fuses three long unfolding soundworlds into a vibrant sonic odyssey. The result can only be described as a living, breathing ARC OF PASSION. As one of the pioneers of electronic music, Steve's career has many musical highpoints; ARC OF PASSION proves to be another definitive statement along the path. Advanced response from listeners places this album at the top of the list of must-have releases from Steve's body of work. ELEUSIAN LULLABY blends the natural, warm and earthy ambient compositions of Alio Die with the elegant, neo-classical voice of Martina, merging notes and silence into an expanded dreamscape. This is lullaby music like an aural caress from darkness into the light. The combination of the vocal melodies with the abstract qualities of the loops and instruments creates a suspended near-dream space, intimate and sensual at the same time.

"Brace yourself for one of the most stunning tribal-ambient-atmospheric recordings ever made. In HOLDING THE SPACE, the second installment in the FEVER DREAMS series, soundcurrent wizard Steve Roach dishes up a heroic dose of powerful sonic textures saturated with archetypal power from the collective ancestral depths. Take a breath and plunge head-first into an astonishing blend of meticulously crafted synth worlds and multi-layered throbbing grooves, augmented by the high-velocity percussion of Byron Metcalf and the achingly beautiful vocals of Jennifer Grais. This holotropic recording pulses with life and spirit, beckoning each of us to journey to our depths to discover (or recover) what possibilities we are destined to embody. This is archaeology of the soul." – Frank MacEowen, M.A., author, shamanic-guide

INVISIBLE is a new long-form zone world Steve created while hunkering down in the Timeroom during the last few cold and rain-filled days of 2014. INVISIBLE is an ultra deep primordial dreamscape of shifting mercurial zones. Mist-shrouded amorphous phantasms appear and recede as distant substrata murmurs are felt as much as heard. Just a few days after its creation, it was offered as a gift on New Year's Eve and many were able to travel deeply into the new year in a collective global soundcurrent experience.
Re-released in 2019 in Digipak sleeve.

Steve's pinnacle performance from 2010's SoundQuest Fest proved to be a real moment in time, and fortunately it was documented with a high resolution recording that places the listener front and center on that special night. Presented as a single CD, the first 74 minutes of the concert are experienced as it unfolded. Three distinct realms are seamlessly mapped out in this inspired set. The opening starts with a 25-minute piece of perpetual forward motion in the mode of DESTINATION BEYOND, created specially for the concert, carved from pure analog synths and sequencers. From here we experience an amazing interplay between didgeridoo players Dashmesh Khalsa, Brian Parnham, percussionist Byron Metcalf and Steve performing real-time looping, processing and mixing along with soundworlds, ocarina and voice. This passage is an all-out expression of shamanic ecstasy that boils over into the engulfing tribal trance state of "Thunder Walk" from the recent release DREAM TRACKER. The last portion of the set settles into an ultra drifting electro-organic zone. This evocative space, which premiered at the Fest, would soon evolve into the opening of IMMERSION FIVE - CIRCADIAN RHYTHMS.

As Lonely as Dave Bowman (Sam Rosenthal)
2007 Projekt PRO195 (CD)
POD is a fascinating new pure deep-dark-ambient release from darkwave maven Sam Rosenthal, founder and owner of Projekt and black tape for a blue girl. The isolation of deep space and the plight of film "2001" character Dave Bowman provides part of the sonic psychodrama of this mercurial mood piece. The sound is muted, consistent and distant as it seems to call out like some kind of haunting searchlight in the deep pockets of space. Perfect for late night excursions in the remote corners of cyberspace and beyond. (Note: This is the non-limited edition in a standard-size Digipak.)
2012 Projekt PRO280 (CD) – Digipak
Projekt has re-released the monumental live in-concert Stormwarning. This release presents perhaps the most intense set of live sequencer music you will experience. Using all analog hardware gear, with what amounted to an entire studio setup on stage, the focus, development of the pieces and the power of the sound is unmatched.

The perfect atmosphere for contemplation and dreaming with eyes open, imbued with an ephemeral quality that seems to linger at the edge of conscious perception, creating an introspective, enveloping flow of mood-altering pieces. The album progresses into deeper, darker, warmer, and quieter zones, towards a beautiful submerged ending.

TERRAFORM is the first full collaborative album for longtime friends Steve Roach and Loren Nerell. The two composers met in LA in 1981, back in the early days of the electronic music scene. It was a time when like-minded musicians who understood the importance of emerging technology were coming together in local clubs and performance venues to share what they knew and learn from one another. After years of friendship and occasional musical collaboration the two decided to convene in a relaxed setting to see what they could distill from a blending of their collective talents and individual styles to accomplish common aims.

The Passage is a foray into the realms of pure ambient, in the spirit of Steve's Immersion series, from Black Tape For A Blue Girl founder/songwriter Sam Rosenthal. The two pieces on the hour-long album submerge the listener in a self-sustaining environment of warm electronics and minimal processings of deep, tender swells and an unresolved, yearning string theme. This is music which gently rotates around its own axis in a time-suspended haze.
