Bloodmoon Rising Night 2
This piece was created over the last few days leading up to the Blood Moon night of October 7th, 2014. So much of my work is born from the deep end of the night immersion. Staying aware of the moon's many phases, from full to new, has always been a part of my creative undercurrent; the opportunity to acknowledge this moment in time without question made this piece flow forth. Tuning into this Blood Moon feeling -- mixed with the sense in the air right now of the season's change -- is inside this piece, and now I quietly offer it up to the moon and to you in a more spontaneous way, only through Bandcamp.

Immersion Station III
Steve Roach, Eric Freeman
We are excited to announce the release of Immersion Station III for the iPhone, iPod and iPod touch. Immersion Station I and II have received rave reviews from users worldwide. On this third version of the infinite soundworld experience, users can create custom mixes with five ultra-immersive loops. Steve draws from a special selection of new sounds that takes the Immersion Station into a deeper realm of sonic suspension. This version is especially effective in Automation Mode, where the sources and silence intermingle into infinity.
Live in Tucson 2000
Steve Roach, Jorge Reyes
On May 27 2000, Steve Roach and Jorge Reyes presented their first-ever concert in North America at Tucson's Temple of Music and Art. Since 1991 they've presented their ground-breaking tribal ambient music worldwide from such exotic locations as a theater built into a volcanic cave in the Canary Islands, to a performance space built upon a field of volcanic rock surrounded by 60 massive stone columns in Mexico City, then to New Music festivals in Europe's concert halls and Medieval churches. Jorge, who passed away in 2009, consistently performed for massive audiences at the prehispanic temples and pyramids throughout Mexico, and those who were tuned to PBS television on New Year's 2000 saw his performance in the center of Mexico City bring in the new Millennium with a global broadcast.
The Waiting Room
Ukab Maerd translates as a hyper-creative progressive ambient audio trip generated by synth and percussion maven Chuck Oken, Jr. and longtime collaborator multi-instrumentalist Gayle Elliot. This might be the music playing while in THE WAITING ROOM for an appointment with agents of destiny in some future edition of the Matrix film series. Moods and unresolved states shift and dissolve in a continuous cloud burst of serene to scintillating mind states. The power of this music comes from the live interaction captured in the studio as foundation tracks. Guest artist Richard Pinhas, founder of the legendary French electronic group Heldon, is featured on three tracks.

A Distant Light
Produced by Steve Roach
Hollan Holmes has created some stunning visual art for Steve, including IMMERSION: ONE, PLACES BEYOND: THE LOST PIECES 4, and the graphic design elements for the IMMERSION STATION app. A DISTANT LIGHT is his debut release as an artist in sound, and a fine debut it is. His artistic touch seen in the visual realms translates directly to his sonic visions. Light-filled spaces and shimmering harmonic zones unfold in their own time and space. And space is the place for this release; file under Classic Space-Music, a'la Music From the Hearts of Space. Sonic enhancements and mastering by Steve Roach.

Resonant Drift, originality a moniker for Bill Olien's ambient explorations project The Drift took on a new direction when a fortuitous meeting occurred with ambient guitar artist Gary Johnson at a week-long Master Class with Steve Roach in 2008. They became fast friends though their mutual passions for sound explorations, and THE CALL was quickly fordged as the first release from the duo drawing enthuastic reviews and setting the course for future soundscape dreamings.

2008 LP11 (CD)
This amazing debut release presents a unique and totally original expression of rarified mystic states. The sense of a sacred ceremony occurring at the site of the Oracle of Delphi or some unknown sacred site in the ancient past or distant future is conjured up at once. The best part of this etheric encounter is how it creates a palpable experience of Sacred Space. On each play of the CD, the spaces seems to appear and recede to places that live beyond the recorded medium. A must-have for deep listeners looking for deep spaces for renewal and reflection. Mastering and sonic enhancement by Steve Roach.

TRANSMUTING CURRENTS is an outstanding debut by ambient-electronic and accomplished didgeridoo artist John Vorus. John has been patiently evolving his sound and ambient sound creation approach since the 90's. Now we get to share in his travels with this debut release. Presented as a continuous blend of electro-acoustic atmospheres, natural sounds, hypnotic beatscapes and didgeridoo rhythms, all boiled down into a delicately simmering aquatic tidepool oozing with audio lifeforms melting from track to track like a balm for mind. The mixing and co-production was performed by Steve Roach in his Arizona based Timeroom studio during an intensive 5-day marathon session in 2005. Framing this sonic statement with a feeling of genuine artistic commitment and vision, the disc is packaged in an elegant custom-made die-cut fiber board CD wallet with slipcase, and printed using a special 6-color process. This is a real beauty to hold and to hear, and a must-have for connoisseurs of deep organic ambient.

This CD is one of those rare releases that is so unique and evocative that it can only be (unfairly) compared to what has come before, to help give a feel for what's in store. Dead can Dance and other 4AD releases, Soul Whirling Somewhere, ECM, non-specific world and Eastern percussion and etheric voices are only part of this ambitious project. Passionately performed 12-string guitar and sitar are also woven into the mystical fabric. Surprisingly no synths or samplers were used, yet you still hear a wash of atmosphere throughout. Steve Roach was invited to do the final mastering, but did not add any processing or additional sounds. This is the kind of music you might hear wafting from deep within a misty overgrown forest as the light wanes into twilight.

Mark Seelig (with Steve Roach)
DISCIPLE is Mark Seelig's first solo project after his powerful contributions on MANTRAM and the WACHUMA'S WAVE project. On this beautiful and meditative CD, Mark fully immerses himself into the traditional Indian Raga styles through his flute and voice overtoning, Guest musicians from India join Mark as do Byron Metcalf on percussion and overall production. Steve provides tambora-inspired analog drones and mastering. The music on the album reflects Mark's 23 years of being a disciple, an initiated seeker. Recorded in three countries -- India, Germany, and the U.S. -- DISCIPLE mirrors Mark's long-lasting connection to these lands.

This isn't a new release, but something you can use while listening to your favorite music. The Mindfold is a foam fitting eyemask that allows TOTAL DARKNESS WITH YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN. This is a tool for deep listening, and is sometimes used in The Timeroom to "test" mixes of pieces in progress. By removing external visual input, Steve's music presents a vivid world in your mind's eye. The Mindfold is excellent for assisting in pure drift excursions of all types, both with music and without. Imagine a float tank experience without the water.
