Since its release in 1988, DREAMTIME RETURN has earned its reputation as a genuine classic. The two-CD Magnum Opus is perhaps the most important, widely known and highly respected release in Steve Roach's vast body of work. it serves as an essential benchmark within the Ambient-Ethno-Atmospheric genre. DREAMTIME RETURN still sounds like a transmission from the near future and the very distant past. Roach's travels in the Australian outback, along with studies of the Aboriginal Dreamtime, and his desert walkabouts in California were the lifeblood for this recording which still defies the boundaries of genre classification 17 years after its release... This 2005 edition has been lovingly remastered using a 24-bit process, and sounds better than ever. It also features never-before seen photos from Steve's Australian adventure during the making of this recording.
24-bit digital remaster with additional artwork. Re-released February 2016 in a beautiful double-Digipak with booklet.

The Tribal Ambient Era Live 1996
2011 Projekt PRO266 (CD)
Reviewed by Connexion Bizarre, Morpheus Music, Relaxed Machinery, Sonic Curiosity, Synth & Sequences
JOURNEY OF ONE is a pinnacle live performance captured during the zenith of Steve Roach's rich tribal-ambient origins of the mid-1990's. The music rises from the darkness, an ancient voice chants in serpentine ecstasy only to subside and hover next to silence, soon broken by raging hybrid trance grooves, didgeridoo and mind-altering soundscapes that mesh to form a soundtrack for a future-primal culture. JOURNEY OF ONE is an ascent into the mystical and primordial places Roach first developed on DREAMTIME RETURN, ARTIFACTS, ORIGINS, WORLD'S EDGE and his Suspended Memories collaborations. This 2-CD set unfolds like the genesis of this influential sound.

SPIRIT DOME returns with a perfect companion, LIVE ARCHIVE. Two out-of-print releases from this acclaimed ambient duo are brought together in this value-priced 2-CD release. Living proof of the power of live performance, these recordings are so immediate and engaging it would be easy to assume they were crafted over months in the studio. LIVE ARCHIVE, from their 1997 tour, serves as a natural complement to 2004's SPIRIT DOME, recorded live to stereo master in one take in a studio-like environment. LIVE ARCHIVE was originally released as a small run on the Groove label in Holland, and has been out of print for several years.
