This new long-form zone billows out like a big sigh of time, breathing steady and strong. Minimal and infinite in its essence, like all of Steve's long-form zones this is a functional soundworld specifically created to enhance the atmosphere of your personal sanctuary, your living environment and beyond. Lower volume playback increases the potency. This sound space serves as a kind of portal to states of subtle awareness, and is perfect for the support of deeper sleeping as well.

Since its release in 1988, DREAMTIME RETURN has earned its reputation as a genuine classic. The two-CD Magnum Opus is perhaps the most important, widely known and highly respected release in Steve Roach's vast body of work. it serves as an essential benchmark within the Ambient-Ethno-Atmospheric genre. DREAMTIME RETURN still sounds like a transmission from the near future and the very distant past. Roach's travels in the Australian outback, along with studies of the Aboriginal Dreamtime, and his desert walkabouts in California were the lifeblood for this recording which still defies the boundaries of genre classification 17 years after its release... This 2005 edition has been lovingly remastered using a 24-bit process, and sounds better than ever. It also features never-before seen photos from Steve's Australian adventure during the making of this recording.
24-bit digital remaster with additional artwork. Re-released February 2016 in a beautiful double-Digipak with booklet.

IMMERSION: THREE is the next chapter in an ongoing series of long-form, steady state "zones" created specifically as tone meditations for the living space. Gently immersive and especially effective at low volume, the non-dynamic nature of these spaces support focused day and night activities. Immersion is perfect for creative states, sleeping, reading, long hours at the computer and other functions where traditional music could be considered invasive. Minimal in nature and sonically uninterrupted without beginning or end, this 3-CD set of all-new material (nearly four hours long) brings Steve's years as a sound painter of deep subtle spaces to a place of quiet mastery. This release is especially effective in dissolving the sense of linear time.
Limited edition is presented in a DVD-sized Digipak, regular edition in a CD-sized Digipak. Re-released in 2011 in an Eco-Wallet.

Like the living, breathing, meditative movement of the Sufi trance dance, MANTRAM is grounded in a reverence for the slowing of time which allows the natural reflective process to emerge. Slow heartbeat-like acoustic frame drum, overtone voice, Didgeridoo, Bansuri flute, and Tamboura drones mix with a majestic tapestry of organic electronic textures, offering the sonic equivalent of the power found when gazing into timeless Mandala images found in classic sacred art. A cinematic epic for the ears, part 2 of MYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES builds upon the swirling currents and massive harmonic landscapes established on part 1. On the first disc of part 2 (titled "Recent Future"), Roach creates a state of constant becoming: soundscapes shift and morph in perpetual motion as one space dissolves away only to reveal the next compelling place. This realm of unresolved, suspended beauty reaches a high plateau setting the stage for the final disc's departure into a single long form track, perfectly titled "Piece of Infinity." The serene, mysterious atmosphere of the 74-minute space completes the tour de force MYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES.

Moving into the majestic realm of pure, non-rhythmic electro-acoustic soundworlds, MYSTIC CHORDS & SACRED SPACES is a stunning 4-CD release marking a new milestone in Roach's history as a true artist of sound. His landmark statements -- including DREAMTIME RETURN, THE MAGNIFICENT VOID and STRUCTURES FROM SILENCE -- are all parts of the uninterrupted flow building to this release. After a recent run of rhythmically fused CD's, Roach moves into awe-inspiring sonic immersion, delving into a spiritual dimension of sound. Nearly 5 years in the making, this release offers a listening experience beyond entertainment and pop culture appeals, creating a new sense of 'ambient orchestration' through a constantly shifting flow of sounds and textures that enters a sacred realm of music.

NADA TERMA merges the boundaries of ambient, world music and sacred-meditative styles. On NADA TERMA (translated as "discovering spiritual treasures through the world of sound") East Indian tonalities blend with Sufi-like trance percussion immersed in atmospheres, drifts and drones, arriving at a state of relaxed, focused awareness. The continuously-woven 73-minute piece is sequenced into seven discrete segments, perfect for any listener looking for extended states of awareness, creative enhancement, yoga, bodywork, and deep listening.
Following upon the groundbreaking work of 2006's MANTRAM, NADA TERMA is the second Projekt collaboration between Arizona's Steve Roach and Byron Metcalf with Germany's Mark Seelig. On NADA TERMA they reach deeper into the mystical / spiritual realm, presenting a blend of diverse worlds skillfully combined in an organic fashion. Deep-trance frame drums, clay pots and percussion meet with harmonic overtone vocals (akin to Tuvan throat singers) and the yearning sounds of the stringed Indian Dilruba, and East Indian bansuri flute, bringing a melodic and spiritual-contemplative highlight to the release. All of this exists within an enigmatic world of shadow and shifting light developed by way of artful enhancements and processing of the acoustic instruments. These complements are part of a constant, slowly breathing subtext of drones and atmospheres in which the entire experience lives.

At the time of this writing, there are three volumes in the Sacred Ceremonies series, with more in various planning stages. The recordings have been well received by a wide audience in many countries, from lay people interested in Buddhist culture to followers of the religion to listeners like director Bernardo Bertolucci who used some of their chants in 'Little Buddha'.

VINE ~ BARK & SPORE captures a pure, organic sound that is rich with a potent magical atmosphere. The remote and mysterious locations deep in Mexico's historic landscape, as well as the hallucinogenic terrain of the Sonoran desert in Southern Arizona, provide the ground where this music takes place. The musical elixir was created from a surreal blending of acoustic and electronic instruments, along with voice and location recordings. With strong shamanic undercurrents, it creates an opening to step through time and again. VINE ~ BARK & SPORE offers music as medicine for the soul. The music of Roach and Reyes acts as a transmitter of the attitudes that ancient cultures had towards music and the spiritual aspects of life, while merging with the currents of today.
