Vir Unis' first instrument listed is "fractal groove creation," and I've rarely heard a musician who can turn such techno/electronic rhythms into something so inventive and exciting. Note "Mind Link," the CD's third track. This beat could have been something lifeless in a more mainstream environment, here it is organic and imminently spontaneous and contagious. The atmospheres are very rich even for these two, layers upon layers of voice mutations, environmental effects, synth drones, electronic and acoustic percussion, and some of the most creative uses of digital technology in the music field today. Roach and Vir Unis explore both exotic ambience and refracted grooves, and each of the ten pieces reflect an amazing musical connection. The tones betray the best in both analog and digital synthesizing, making the CD worthwhile repeated listening, each playback revealing the album's subtle depths. The artwork is some of the best I have seen in quite a while, digital creations of vivid color and energy, a perfect combination for some of the most vivid electronic music in recent memory. If one needs proof that there is no end in sight to the territory that can be covered in this medium, look right here, BODY ELECTRIC
is electric indeed.

Get ready for a new level in bio-electronic "soul stirring body music, forged out of the reflections from the gene pool from which we crawled out." This collaboration has brought about a powerful step forward for both artists. Judging from those who have previewed this recording, it is sure to surprise, delight and perhaps short-circuit fans of dynamic electronic-organic music. This album was created on the instruments of our time by two artists who have reached deep into the heart of the machines, pulling out the passion captured on BODY ELECTRIC.
